Winter Environmental provided large-scale abatement and industrial decontamination services for more than 8 years at one of the largest chemical manufacturing facilities in the United States. This multi-million dollar effort was performed for a client operating a 1,100-acre crop protection and agricultural chemical production site in West Virginia.
The scope included decontamination and cleaning of above-ground storage tanks and support vessels, asbestos abatement, industrial process line breaking and flushing, dismantling and demolition of piping and vessels, and full production facility decontamination. Cleaning and remediation techniques included low and high-pressure water and chemical cleaning, aggregate and cryogenic blasting, convection heating, and conventional methods tailored to specific contaminants and industrial residues.
All work was completed in full compliance with NESHAP, RCRA, TSCA, DOT, and OSHA regulations. Personnel operated within protective levels ranging from Level D to Level B, depending on task and exposure potential. Winter Environmental’s disciplined planning, technical execution, and rigorous safety controls supported safe and efficient cleanup across one of the nation’s most complex industrial environments.
