Winter Environmental conducted soil remediation at the Parr Hydroelectric Project in Jenkinsville, South Carolina, with work focused on preparing the site for redevelopment and protecting critical infrastructure. Phase 1 included site prep and installation of temporary roads, erosion controls, frac tanks, and the relocation of a 1,000-linear-foot water line to support excavation.
The team excavated and managed approximately 37,375 cubic yards of impacted material across two areas, the Balance of Project zone and the Maintenance Shed Area. Subsurface concrete foundations encountered during excavation were demolished and removed. Winter Environmental also provided excavation support for a soil nail wall system installed to protect adjacent utilities. Impacted soils were staged in lined stockpile areas, treated, sampled, and backfilled using #57 stone and compacted structural fill. Final restoration included seeding, mulching, and leaving temporary roads in place for ongoing site access and maintenance.
