Winter Environmental completed a large-scale asbestos siding removal project ahead of planned explosive felling operations. The work involved manually removing approximately 228,000 square feet of asbestos-containing siding above 130 feet in elevation, all performed under tightly controlled conditions and an aggressive schedule.
The scope included full panel removal by licensed asbestos crews, dust suppression via a dedicated water truck, and regulated work zone maintenance. Swing-stage access systems were used to reach elevated façades, enabling the removal of intact panels and the controlled lowering of debris for disposal. Due to extensive caulking at panel seams, all siding was managed as asbestos waste. Additional work included universal waste management, removing lamps, ballasts, tritium exit signs, mercury switches, chemicals, and oils from site equipment. With a 30-person crew and specialized equipment including swing stages, a mobile crane, and decon units, Winter Environmental delivered the project safely and on schedule.
