Winter Environmental was contracted to perform select demolition, asbestos abatement, lead abatement, mold remediation, and mechanical system demolition across four buildings at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Each structure carried its own technical challenges, from complicated mechanical layouts to the careful handling of multiple hazardous materials, requiring coordinated planning and experienced environmental management.
All work was performed in full compliance with NAVFAC requirements and EM 385-1-1 safety standards. The team implemented detailed safety controls that included daily job hazard analyses, continuous air monitoring, containment setup, and dedicated onsite oversight to maintain the highest levels of worker protection and environmental compliance.
Winter Environmental worked closely with the general contractor and Navy personnel to maintain secure access, manage logistics, and minimize impacts to ongoing base operations. Through disciplined execution, proactive communication, and a sustained commitment to safety and quality, the team delivered each phase efficiently while supporting the mission-critical environment of Kings Bay.
