Winter Environmental completed a comprehensive sub slab depressurization system installation that required coordinated abatement, concrete work, system installation, and site restoration. The project began with full concrete scanning, cutting, coring, removal, and replacement, along with removal of existing vapor extraction piping and sump components.
Prior to system installation, the team abated approximately 2,125 square feet of asbestos containing floor tile and mastic. After abatement and demolition of the old vapor extraction system, Winter Environmental installed more than forty new vapor extraction well points and connected them to four blower systems. An additional thirty-seven vapor monitoring points were installed across the facility in accordance with the design requirements.
The scope also included installation of new sub slab and overhead PVC piping, slab crack sealing, and full restoration of impacted areas.
Working closely with the project engineer, the team optimized system layout, airflow management, and installation details to accommodate the constraints of the site. The project demonstrated Winter Environmental’s hands-on expertise, technical capability, and collaborative approach to delivering complex environmental systems.
