Winter Environmental was contracted to perform abatement and interior demolition for the University of Georgia’s Science and Ag Hill Phase 2 building, a multi-story complex built in the late 1950s and 1960s that housed multiple science departments and laboratory areas. The project required a full interior gut, leaving only the building’s windows and critical life safety systems.
The scope included asbestos and lead abatement, concrete saw cutting, complete MEP removal, demolition of roofing sections and stairwells, cooling tower removal, and management and recycling of universal wastes. Winter Environmental sequenced work floor by floor to support the university’s redevelopment plans and maintain safe conditions throughout the multi-year project.
